Editorial policy
Educational standards for sourcing, original examples, AI disclosures, corrections and commercial independence.
Purpose and scope
Our purpose is to help independent professionals understand terms, organise records and ask clearer questions. The site does not recommend specific policies, determine legal obligations for individual readers or decide whether claims are covered.
Sourcing
Guides link to government, regulator and industry sources for factual concepts. Country-specific statements should stay within the source’s geographic scope. A source date records when it was consulted; it is not a promise that the external page will never change.
Where a claim cannot be established generally, the guide frames a question to put to a qualified professional instead of inventing a definite answer. Descriptions of a particular policy would require that policy’s actual documents.
Original examples
Examples, briefing structures and comparison exercises are original illustrations. They must not be presented as actual claims, research findings, client experience or product testing. We do not invent premiums, savings, statistics or awards.
AI assistance and review
AI is used in researching, drafting and organising this edition. That process does not confer professional qualifications. The articles explicitly state that they have not been independently reviewed by an insurance professional. Readers should use professional advice for decisions about their own cover.
Updates and corrections
Substantive changes receive an updated date. Dates must not be refreshed only to create an appearance of freshness. Material errors should be corrected in the affected article, with a dated explanation where the change affects its meaning.
The contact page states whether a public editorial channel is available. A source link and the relevant sentence are useful when documenting an issue; confidential policy or client documents are not needed for a general factual correction.
Commercial disclosures
This edition is free of advertising, affiliate links and sponsored recommendations. Any future commercial relationship must be disclosed at the point it appears, and the privacy and consent arrangements must reflect the actual implementation.
